		<description>I love the idea of having designated "connectors" at the event -- that's a new one even on me, but so obvious once you say it. I've seen it done informally, but yeah, it's like, "Why &lt;em&gt;wouldn't&lt;/em&gt; almost every event do that?"</description>

		<description>It's definitely true that men and women network differently but I believe that it all comes down to doing what works for you as an individual.

As a female who regularly engages in networking activities, I prefer settings in which I will feel comfortable and also like events that have a topic. For example, the AMA has a Marketing Networking group that meets once per month in a social setting where members discuss a specific topic. There are also AMA facilitators called "connectors" who walk around and stimulate conversation. I think that this is a great way to foster a networking environment, gets everyone involved and enables people to open up.</description>
