When to Follow Up on a Job Application

Are you being pushy if you contact an employer after submitting a resume? The opposite may be true, suggests a new survey from Robert Half International.

Eighty-two percent of executives polled said job seekers should contact hiring managers within two weeks of submitting application materials. Only five percent said professionals should refrain from communicating once a resume has been sent.

  1. I totally agree with your blog posting. Whether we are working locally or online, we need to communicate freely with prospective employers. If we don’t, the next person in line will get the job. The problem is that as job seekers we need to educate ourselves as to what is acceptable. Don’t you agree?

  2. Yes, I totally agree with the blog posting. The more we know, the more we can use. What was acceptable then is not necessarily acceptable now.
