A successful job search campaign requires exceptional organizational and follow-up skills. Jibber Jobber provides an easy to use interface that takes the drudgery out of the job search process while improving efficiencies and accelerating search activity.

What I like about Jibber Jobber is that it addresses a clear need among job-searchers: managing their job search and all of the people and companies with whom they interact during the course of their job search. The great majority of people I meet have very primitive personal CRM systems–often as primitive as a shoebox of business cards. So there’s a large opportunity to provide people with more sophisticated tools.

Jibber Jobber’s challenge is that it is so narrowly focused on the job search, whereas every professional needs a personal CRM tool (e.g., Act, Microsoft Business Contact Manager, etc. They may find that they successfully penetrate the job-seeker market, then at some point rebrand and target the broader professional market.

David, thanks for the post about JibberJobber. The Job Seeker's CRM that you mention (the shoe box and business cards (not to mention index cards)) is alive and strong! Initially I designed JibberJobber to help with this immediate need, which can last more than a year... a very emotional and trying year. It became clear, though, with constant job changes (every 3 to 5 years), even changes within one company, people needed more of a "career management tool." JibberJobber has features and a model that accommodates long-term career management, whether you are in a job search or not. You mention that our challenge is that we are narrowly focused on the job search. Actually, one of our mistakes out of the gate is that we branded ourselves as such! It has been difficult to rebrand, although we are working towards that. We definitely have plans to move into related markets, and are excited to have such a needed toolset for professionals. For now we need to ensure that we don't spread ourselves too thin, at the same time working on some strategic relationships. Expect great things in the future! The first year was a fun ride, this second year will be full of surprises! Jason Alba CEO - JibberJobber.com :: self-serve career management ::
