The Blogging Enterprise – Austin, TX 11-2-2005

There are no coincidences.

I’ve been so caught up in my work at About, promoting the book, and various other projects, that I’d barely had time to notice that The Blogging Enterprise conference going on tomorrow, November 2, barely a mile from my house here in Austin. With my day unscheduled (I never call it “free” or “open”, because there’s always plenty to do) tomorrow, I decided to find out more and possibly go attend.

Well, the online registration system for the event was down, so I had to resort to the telephone and called Paul Walker, one of the event organizers and podcast producer for The Zone-Read. We got to chatting, and it turns out that one of his panelists for the event’s morning session on “Kick-Starting the Blogging Enterprise”, Paul Westerfield of TSMI’s Trade Show Marketing Report, was stuck at home in Philadelphia with the flu, and Paul needed another panelist. Paul W.’s specialty? Small business. So, given my role as Entrepreneurs Guide at About.com, hey — great fit.

There are no coincidences.

End result… I’ll be one of the panelists tomorrow morning at The Blogging Enterprise. To those of you who may be attending, I look forward to either seeing you again or meeting you in person for the first time, as the case may be.
