We did it! Wikipedia entry for Jew now #1 on Google

While Google offered a reasonable explanation of the reason the anti-semitic site Jew Watch was topping their search results for the word Jew, the people have spoken, and we have said that racial and religious intolerance is simply not acceptable. Yes, the Wikipedia entry for Jew is now the #1 result on a search for the word on Google. The entire process, from the first call for help until now, took right at six weeks.

That doesn’t mean linking efforts should stop. More links will help solidify that position, as search engine results can change over time—sometimes overnight. Also, Jew Watch is still at #2, and I’m sure there are a lot of people who would rather see the Judaism 101 entry, Who Is a Jew?, bump up a notch, as well.

So don’t let up yet, but enjoy the victory if you played a part.
